My Little Shopper

They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I'm finding that sometimes this "tree" isn't genetic. My mom has told me many times that Joss is a lot like I was when I was a kid: she talks non-stop, she is stubborn, etc., etc. Another thing we have in common is our love for shopping. Let me preface this by saying that Jocelyn does not care if we are shopping for her or for anyone else, she just enjoys going to the stores and looking around. And she is amazingly good at picking out gifts for other people.

Last night we headed to the mall to print some pictures and to look for some shoes for Joss' upcoming birthday. She had picked out the dress she wanted to wear and yesterday afternoon declared that she needed some new shoes to go with it. Tony told her that she had some spending money and that she could use it to buy herself some pretty birthday shoes. So with her money in her pocket, we headed to the mall.

I assumed that it would only take a short amount of time to find an acceptable pair of shoes. What I neglected to taken into account was that within the past 6 or so months, Joss had been watching me and learning the value of an appropriately chosen pair of shoes and how if done properly, they can make a whole outfit! :)

5 or 6 stores and 3 1/2 hours later (I did a bit of shopping in there too) we left the mall with the perfect pair of shoes in hand. We did have one setback at JC Penneys because the original pair that she picked out was not in stock in her size, to which she replied: "I'm sad. Someone took my shoes". However it didn't take long for the shoes below to outrank the previous ones.

So I learned a couple of good lessons: one, they are always watching us and picking up our habits, good and bad; and two, good fashion begins at an early age!! :)

Ha Ha Ha! I love it. See I told you your daughter would have the same habits you have. I love it.
