Merry Christmas

I hope this post finds you all well and enjoying the Christmas season. Christmas is my favorite time of the year and always special for us but it was extra special this year as our dream of becoming parents had finally become true.

Jocelyn loved everything about Christmas. She especially loved the Christmas tree and all of the lights that we saw on the neighboring houses. One of our favorite pasttimes became driving around to find the best displays!

Of course the presents were a big hit. We decided against doing the whole "santa thing" and so she saw the presents begin to pile up pretty early on. I tried my best to teach her what Christmas was really about. We read stories about baby Jesus and Mary and Joseph and she will tell you that Baby Jesus is what Christmas is really about. However when push comes down to shove, a 4 year just really loves opening presents! I'm proud to say that she did enjoy wrapping and giving presents to others though. She already has shown that she has a giving heart, something that I pray she continues as she grows older. In the end the guitar and her new kitchen set (pictures to come later) and her easy bake oven were her favorites!

We are all looking forward to the new year in our household. Joss begins preschool in January (she is SO excited and has been working hard on learning to write her letters), I begin student teaching, and Tony begins a new work schedule that will have him home more in the evenings. It will be a whole new year full of many blessings and more new experiences.

p.s....I have to brag....this morning Jocelyn hugged me and said "thank you mama" I asked her what she was thanking me for and she replied "for cleaning" (at the time I was cleaning the microwave). For all of you moms out there you know what a miracle that is and how we all long to hear that from individuals in our house!! :) I might have that quote bronzed and hung in the kitchen so I can read it in years to come when I don't hear that anymore!
