How Long????

On my walk this evening I contemplated where we are in this journey. As we are approaching the beginning of November we will hit the 5 month mark. 5 months? REALLY???? I almost couldn't believe it!

At this time they are telling us the wait time is at 14 months, which for those of you who are math challenged as I am, leaves us 9 months until we see the sweet face(s) of our baby girl(s) (in a picture). The significance of this hit me and I even got a little weepy. We are more than 1/3 through our wait, we are now into human gestation timeframes rather than gestation of an elephant, and neither of us have had a breakdown yet. We have the holidays coming up which will make the time fly by, my sister is coming home next month, which I am UBBER EXCITED about!! Of course my birthday is in there (yay - and for those of you who want to contribut I could use some new camera lenses :) )...and before you can say "lets go to China" we will be in 2007.

Tony is working hard on updating the kitchen cabinets, changing them from their original ugly, outdate brown to a crisp white. I have begun classes at Columbia College to get my teaching certificate and we are still working and enjoying the football season (basketball is next - HOORAY!!)

Through all of this I try to remember to pray for our girl(s). I'm not sure where they are, but I send up a prayer now and then for their safety. I pray for the mother who will make the very difficult decision to give up her child, for them to be found quickly and taken to a safe place, for loving caregivers, and for a little bit of happiness in what may be a bleak orphanage. I hope they are able to experience a bit of love until we are able to come to them and hold them in our arms and make them part of our family.

And for the rest of our family to love and hold them too. I can't express enough how EXCITED I am about the arrival of my little niece(s). I pray for patience everyday as I await their arrival.
