Each day she gets more outgoing and more comfortable with family and friends. She is still having moments of sadness when she stops long enough to be quiet (which is usually just at naptime and bedtime) but for the most part is doing well. She will look at pictures of other girls at the orphanage and name them, sometimes getting somber but most of the time jabbering in Chinese. She's probably telling us all about them but we don't understand a word of it!
Our transition to becoming a family and her transition to life with us has truly been a blessed one. Her attachment to us seems to be coming along very well. She will come to us when tired or upset and definitely lets us know when a situation is too much for her. She still is working on being close with Tony but that is coming along very well. They play together famously and she missed him while he was away at drill this past weekend.
She loves to ride her bike and loves to go to the nearby school playground to swing and slide. She loves Lola and tries to carry her everywhere. Lola has been such a trooper about it all and has not growled or snapped at her once.
We have gone to church two weeks in a row and she has done well there also. She sits in the service with us, trying to see the worship band and colors during the sermon. Soon we are going to take her to class, staying with her until she is comfortable enough to go alone. I think she will enjoy the interaction with the other children as she is beginning to play with Josh and Halen when they come over.
Tomorrow we are headed to St Louis to the adoption clinic for a post-placement medical exam. The dr. is well versed in adopted children and their potential medical and emotional issues. She will do a full workup that we can give to our pediatrician later. We are hoping to spend a couple of hours at the zoo afterwards to make the whole trip a pleasant experience for her.
I will be working on going back and filling in the information about our trip to China and adding pictures. It was a great time and I am ready to go back again! Our guides were wonderful and everything was organized and went smoothly.
For now here are a few pictures to let you see our beautiful little one.

Finally, some pictures of her beautiful smile! I'm sure you have so many because she knows just how blessed she is and is now truly happy.
Keep us posted on everything, and please let me know if you need anything at all.
Jocelyn (it's hard not to call her Fu Can anymore!) is such a beautiful child. Her eyes literally twinkle! Thank you for your comments on my blog, and I am hopeful that my husband has the same experience with Joanna over the next couple of days. This whole process has just got to be so traumatic for kids of any age, but when they get a little older and have formed attachments to the nannies and other kids, it is a true blessing when they decide to accept you right away!
I'm so glad I looked tonight to read your blog. Tony, It looks like she has your smile in the second from the bottomr picture. Such a little darling, sorry Tony, I am talking about Jocelyn. :) Good luck at the adoption clinic. It goes better than you think it ever could. The doctor there is great and so is the lady that does the testing. Have fun at the zoo! Patrick and Amy
I have been checking everyday to see if you have updated the blog! I'm so excited for you and Tony and Joss. God has truly shined on you.
Keep the news coming.
