2008 Olympics

The 2008 Olympics are being held in Beijing, China from August 8-24. Below are a few links to information about the Olympics as well as some interesting things the Chinese government is doing to get ready for the influx of visitors into their country. Apparently they are trying to make a good impression and exhibit good manners for their guests.

The motto for these Olympic games is "One World, One Dream". For those of us in the process of adopting from China I think it is fitting. Adoption brings together children and adults from different parts of the world and fulfills the dreams of being in loving and supportive family.

I'm not sure how the games will affect the adoptions, though if I had to guess I would say it will slow things down for a bit at least during the month they are occuring. I'm going to bet the CCAA will take a break/vacation during the Olympics. Of course, I could be wrong! :)
