Today, Monday, May 8th, 2006 I sent our dossier to Childrens Hope. It will arrive at the Kansas City office by noon tomorrow. Of course, there was a small snafu with the money and we weren't able to send the payment along with the documents. HOWEVER....they assured me that I could go ahead and send the documents to them and they could look them over, making sure all looks well. If they find anything we missed, or that was done incorrectly they can call us immediately so we can get it to them. At this point we are hoping and praying that it is all there and looks great. With the way things have gone, I would not be surprised if we receive a phone call from them.
Once we get money to them (hopefully this week) they will send our dossier to the home office in St Louis to be translated and then off to CHINA!!!
After weeks of frustration and disappointment it seems as though this may actually happen for us! It offered me some hope and lifted me out of the fog that I had been under concerning the adoption. I even went to Target yesterday and bought a small Pooh Bear stuffed animal to take with us and give to our daughter when we first meet her. Of course, when I showed it to Tony he got on to me because I only got one. Being the optimist that he is, he is still hoping we will get a referral for twins. I on the other hand try not to get my hopes up, as a defense mechanism. Despite that, and with his encouragement, I went back and purchased an identical one today. :)
Once this major hurdle is completed I think I'll feel like I can truly believe things are going to work out, and that I can start actually getting ready. We have a nursery to put together and a quilt to piece together (thank you for those of you who have already sent in your squares - they are gorgeous!), reading to finish and planning, hoping and dreaming to do.

OH THE ANTISPATION OF WAITING. AS YOU ALL KNOW I AM NOT A PATIENT PERSON. HOWEVER, ITS LIKE THE SAYING GOES, GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT. AND THESE LITTLE GIRLS ARE GOING TO WAIT JUST AS LONG AS WE DO TO MEET. SO BETWEEN ALL OF US, I THINK WE CAN HANDLE IT. THIS FAMILY HAS SO MUCH LOVE IN OUR HEARTS TO GIVE. I CAN'T WAIT TO MEET MY LITTLE NIECES.
