Last week we boarded another plane...but this time only a couple of short flights got us to our destination, my sisters house in Pennsylvania. She and her husband had not met Jocelyn so we took advantage of some of our time off to go visit them.
We had a great time during our short visit. We arrived on Wednesday afternoon and left on Sunday (early, early in the morning). During our visit we ate, chatted, shopped, shopped more, and generally enjoyed being together. Our visits are always wonderful. Jess and Lou are so much fun and we are lucky to see them once a year.
Jocelyn had a great time and loves her Aunt Jessica and Uncle Lou (Lou Lou to her) very much. She was very comfortable with them, even from the first moment she met them. Uncle Lou introduced her to the guitar, keyboards and the drums and they are threatening to buy them all for her for Christmas.
We took her for her first bowling excursion where she had a great time. We all benefited by bowling with a four year old as we got to use bumpers. Of course for most of us, that really didn't make a difference. She thought it was extremely funny when we missed all of the pins (yes, it is possible with bumpers) and would show the sign and say "zero!!!" Even today she says that Tony, myself and Lou all got zero, that Jessica got "just one" and Jocelyn got....10!! :)
We were glad to be home Sunday afternoon. We loved our time with Jess and Lou but we were happy to be back home in our own beds and familiar surroundings. We all missed Lola, especially Jocelyn.
Joss continues to amaze us everyday. Her outgoing and fun personality makes her such a joy to be around. She of course has her toddler moments, but for the most part she is a loving, sweet and funny child. She keeps us laughing...a LOT! She continues to learn the English language at an amazing pace. She knows her ABCs, can count to 10, is working on her colors, and is even learning to spell her name. We're beginning to work on recognizing the letters and learning to write some of them. That is a bit more difficult as Chinese writing is drastically different than English alphabet characters. She learns so quickly and amazes us with how she picks up on things, even after having only seen them one time.
Her new favorite things are her bicycle (well that has been true since day one), cameras (she loves to take pictures), and phones. Everytime we are on the phone she asks who it is (in Chinese) and wants to talk to them. We decided it was time to buy her a phone of her very own and she talks on it constantly! She even tried to plug it into our cell phone charger. :) Oh...and she loves listening to her iPod that aunt Jessica gave her. No, she's not spoiled at all. :)

Your new pictures made Joanna's day! She had looked at the previous picture on Monday, and they seemed to make her sad. She kept touching the screen, and she had big tears in her eyes. When I was at the computer this evening, she managed to get her point across that she wanted to see FuCan. (I keep emphasizing that she is now Jocelyn so that she will hopefully realize that someone else got a new name also.) I showed her how to double-click on the photos and use the back arrow, and she spent about 15 minutes looking and smiling and asking who you and your husband were. She also made lots of comments about them, but, of course, I could not understand. Thanks for the new post! Jocelyn is a beautiful little girl.
