Upon arriving at the CCAA our dossier went through several department's. First the dossiers are logged in. Second, the dossier will go to the Review Room. Then they arrive in the infamous Matching Room!

In the matching room employees of the CCAA actually read through the dossiers that each family has sent in. They also read the dossiers that have been submitted for each child.
When we began this process I assmued that you were matched with the child that was on the top of the "waiting child" pile when your dossier came up. However, they actually take a great deal of effort to match children with families. I have heard they try to match children and families based on physical characteristics, and if none can be found, they look at similar birthdates. They feel that if a child has a birthdate near one of the parents that they will have similar personalities. Very interesting!!

Our dossier is now waiting to go to the review room. As of right now-- CCAA
is currently reviewing the dossiers that have LIDs in February. So, we still have a while before our dossier is even reviewed. We're still hoping it all begins to move very quickly!!
