DTC

DTC....those magical words that we have been waiting to hear. For those of you not constantly absorbed in adoption e-groups and not up on all the lingo, it stands for documents to China. Last Friday CHI sent our dossier to China, and it arrived two days ago. May 22nd, 2006 to be exact. What does this mean? Well, it really means that we no longer have to look at the pile of paperwork sitting on our desk and wonder when we might be able to mail it off, or how long it was going to stand in the way of us and our little one(s). It also means that we are close to the beginning of our official countdown to a referral, which will begin upon receiving our LID (I'll explain in a later post).

Currently the wait time from LID to referral is 11-12 months, and according to most rumors, that will increase to at least 13-14 months.

So we are expecting to travel in early fall of 2007.

So that is a year later than we originally planned (whats that they say - life happens while you're busy making plans???)

So we will find many things to fill the next year, taking trips and reading books and readying the house, and spending much needed time together.

So we're still waiting and hoping.......
