Stuck

Well, all the paperwork is finished but we've hit another bump in the road. We have to wait a bit before we can submit it all to the adoption agency. We've come so far just to get stuck in the mud it seems. Somedays this journey seems impossible, or worse, not meant to be. But my eternal optimistic side pushes me to go on and keep my hopes up. Our families are a great source of encouragement and have stood beside us every step of the way. Most of them are as excited as we are to see little ones come home.
In the meantime, I've become very aware of the silence that fills our home. We purchased this home with the intent of filling it with children, and believed we would be very close to fulfilling that dream by now. Now when we go home it seems very quiet, devoid of the laughter, and even tears of children. Instead it will be at least another year, and another Christmas (which has also started to seem empty without children) before we hear those precious sounds.

Here's to holding on...
